I got the green light from my podiatrist to start running again! He wasn’t quite sure what the heck was wrong with my foot; he looked at the xrays, and also noted that I hadn’t had any pain for about two weeks now. “Probably just overuse – you’re fine,” quoth Dr. Bunion. He did notice that I had an abnormally long third metatarsal in that foot, though. Ack! I’m deformed!

Since our anniversary, I’ve been on the hunt for a plum sake for Stephanie. She had it at Morimoto’s and thought it was one of the best dessert wines she has tasted. It turns out that Ginkobai plum sake is incredibly hard for the average consumer to buy (outside of a restaurant), but I finally found one online retailer with just one bottle left. It seems it’s been discontinued. Argh!

I’ve had to modify my training for the Army Ten …

I’ve had to modify my training for the Army Ten Miler. No sooner do I start turning even mile splits on regular four mile runs, than a recent foot pain progresses to shooting leg pain. My GP doctor is thinking along the lines of Morton’s Neuroma, but got me an X-ray (to rule out a stress fracture) and an appointment with a podiatrist on the 23rd. So until then it’s Advil, low-impact cardio, and weight training.
