Birthday Week 2005 is upon us! On Friday, Stephanie and I drove down to Richmond to see Tristan & Isolde with her folks. Then it was off to the Bavarian Inn, care of a Christmas gift certificate from my parents. We arrived back home today and settled in to watch yesterday’s Daytona 500. Tomorrow it’s punch and pie with the A’Hearns, then dueling birthdays with Becca later in the week. I really get the most out of this, don’t I?

Okay, it’s time to start running again. I’ve been a slob for the past few months and it shows. This season I’m going to track my progress with a little app I came across recently called My Running Log; it should be interesting to record and analyze my workouts. You can say it – I’m a geek.

Interesting news out of the New York Times today: it seems that despite the efforts of the federal government (in the form of the “Can Spam Act”) spam has actually increased more than 50 percent since last year. Big surprise. While we all know better than to open unsolicited email, filtering all that garbage out can be tough. Let products like Thunderbid, POPFile, or SpamAssassin make email useful again!
