I added a new technical feature last night detailing the challenges I faced learning a new web development technique called AJAX. It’s heavy on the nerdspeak, but it’s my job.

Much to Stephanie’s delight, we saw the new Harry Potter movie The Goblet of Fire on opening night. Here’s my review in handy bulleted list form:

  • it was very, very good
  • the new Dumbledore is still a spaz
  • Ralph Fiennes/Voldemort is not a spaz; he is evil and excellent
  • it is most definitely rated PG-13
  • more so than the previous three movies, you might be lost unless you’ve read Book 4

I’m sure Steph will want to see it again within the week. Give us a call if you’d like to join in on the fun and wizard death.

I’m not big into Starbucks. I just like black coffee, and theirs is really, really gross. But every winter, I’m like a rat on crack with their seasonal-only Gingerbread Latte – and they just released it yesterday. I can’t get enough of it. It’s not that it’s even tasty or delicious; but once I finish one, I immediately feel like I need another. And another. Is this what addiction is like?

I came across two great websites today for us crazy running people: Gmaps Pedometer and MapMyRun.com – both are based on Google Maps/Earth. Gmaps tracks mile intervals, lets you save an entire map in a permalink, export to a GPS, or print out a route. With MapMyRun you can save routes (with a registration/login), import routes from a GPS, and calculate pace, speed, and calories burned.
