First thing’s first: Stephanie and I both locked ourselves away this past weekend and read the new Harry Potter book, The Deathly Hallows. We were each fully expecting to start our Monday by browsing the headlines in print and online and seeing a spoiler, so we had to make sure nothing ruined the outcome. If you’ve read it, too, please contact Steph – she’s become some sort of Harry Potter Rain Man and loves to exchange trivia and answer questions.
Also, thanks to our friends at the Dunn Loring VFRD for inviting us to our first Saturday evening bingo night! We had a great time and can’t wait to come back again.

We’re back from vacation (family photo to the right) and after seven days away I’ve got links galore. First, several friends and coworkers have enticed me and Stephanie to join Facebook, a social networking site. It’s like MySpace, but without the preteens and seizure-inducing interface.
Next, thanks to Eric and Matt for passing along GrandCentral.com. This is a Google-sponsored site that lets you get one phone number (for free!) and ties it to any phone(s) you like. So when someone calls that one number, all your phones ring. There are more features that I’m still looking into, but so far it’s pretty cool. You also have to get past the fact that Google is getting a goodly amount of your personal information. Email me if you’d like my one new phone number, which will ring simultaneously on my home, cell, and work phones.
Finally, there’s Speech Bubbles, a fun utility that lets you add a cartoon-style bubble to any webpage. The potential for hilarity is almost staggering.

We’re off this evening to enjoy a week at the beach in Corolla, North Carolina with the A’Hearns! Should be a fun time, and I’m sure the niece and nephew will keep us on our toes.
Also, congrats to Drew on his new Mustang!
