DC commuters – it’s time to break out the tinfoil hats! All of you HOV cheaters will face tougher enforcement technology as the metro area prepares to expand portions of the beltway, I-95, and some other major roads. I’m hopeful that ultimately the new lanes will help alleviate the traffic nightmare in this town, but the HOV and HOT lane construction is really going to mess with my chi. I need to find a job with a two-mile commute, like Stephanie.

First thing’s first: Stephanie and I both locked ourselves away this past weekend and read the new Harry Potter book, The Deathly Hallows. We were each fully expecting to start our Monday by browsing the headlines in print and online and seeing a spoiler, so we had to make sure nothing ruined the outcome. If you’ve read it, too, please contact Steph – she’s become some sort of Harry Potter Rain Man and loves to exchange trivia and answer questions.
Also, thanks to our friends at the Dunn Loring VFRD for inviting us to our first Saturday evening bingo night! We had a great time and can’t wait to come back again.

A word of caution for all of my fellow lead-foot Virginia drivers: as of July 1st the state will be enforcing new laws in an effort to help fund major road projects. Thanks to Becca for introducing us to a hilarious new show Mondays on CBS. Creature Comforts comes to us from the creator of the UK series Wallace and Gromit, and features clay animation over interviews with everyday people about a variety of topics. I missed the first two episodes (out of seven supposedly commissioned by CBS), but they are both available for download via the “Video” link on the site above. Don’t miss it!
